Combined with the SITRANS FMT020 transmitter, it forms the SITRANS FM520 magnetic flow measurement system, offering a range of advantages. SENSORPROM™ technology enables automatic uploading of initial settings and calibration data, making commissioning both fast and simple. Thanks to a seamless Plug & Play solution, the transmitter can be replaced on-site and put into operation within minutes.

The validated calibration ensures high accuracy in flow measurement, with each Siemens flow meter calibrated in individually accredited facilities according to ISO/IEC 17025. To simplify service and maintenance, the SITRANS FM520 is also designed for on-site verification, making it easy to check system performance.

With its combination of precision, operational reliability, and user-friendliness, the SITRANS FM520 is the optimal solution for water applications where accurate and reliable flow measurement is crucial.

SITRANS FMT020 – Next generation MAG transmitter

High-performance and intelligent flow measurement for demanding process applications

SITRANS FMT020 is a robust and intelligent transmitter designed to provide accurate and reliable flow measurement of conductive liquids in a variety of industrial processes. It is the successor to the proven MAG 5000 and MAG 6000 transmitters, combining their unique features with advanced new functions.

Advanced technology and flexible installation options
FMT020 retains the flexible installation design from its predecessors, allowing it to be mounted both compactly and remotely in the same enclosure. The modular design enables easy replacement of the transmitter, addition of communication modules, and use of the Sensorprom memory device for quick commissioning, immediate measurement, and secure data storage.

In addition to these features, the FMT020 can simultaneously measure volume flow, flow velocity, and electrical conductivity. It also offers enhanced diagnostics with empty pipe monitoring and self-testing of the unit, as well as multifunctional input and output channels for process control. User-friendliness is a key focus with a unified operating structure.

Applications

The SITRANS FMT020 transmitter is designed for high performance, easy installation, commissioning, and reduced maintenance. It is a robust solution suitable for versatile applications but is also the ideal choice for demanding applications where advanced diagnostics and functionality are essential. The transmitter can be combined with magnetic flow sensors of the SITRANS FMS500 type. SITRANS FMS500.

A flow sensor for all water and wastewater applications. Its conical design enhances accuracy at low flow rates, making it particularly useful for leak detection.

Suitable for direct burial and constant submersion.

SITRANS FMS500 meets drinking water approvals.

Design

The transmitter is enclosed in a durable polycarbonate housing with an IP66/67, NEMA 4X/6 rating. Together with a flow sensor, it forms a complete measurement system, providing the measured flow values via a local display, multiple signal outputs, or a fieldbus interface. The modular design concept of the FMT020 allows it to be used in either a remote connection setup or an integrated mounting configuration with SITRANS FMS500 magnetic flow sensors.

  • Integrated Mounting:
    For integrated mounting, the transmitter and sensor form a single mechanical unit.
  • Remote-Mounted Design:
    For remote mounting, the transmitter and sensor are installed in separate locations. Electrical connection between the transmitter and sensor is established via sensor cables.
